  1. Regents are pretty much a joke... AP is way harder, but I suppose you could use these exams to study for the AP exam - but don't rely on just those because they are too easy.


  2. Whatever you do, don't study for the AP exams with old Regents. Although not explicitly stated, the Regents exams test minimum understanding on a certain topic so that if you get half of the questions right on some tests, you are still able to pass. It's basically done for kids in inner cities that go to poor schools and can't afford to review for tests because of the time and money required. The AP exams are to test outstanding achievements in a particular subject. Getting a 4 or a 5 means that you really know your stuff. So if you get an 80 on the American Regents, and only study regents material, you would most likely get a 1-2. Make sure you study AP material such as college board books. Good luck on whatever test you take.
