  1. I loved  both. You just have to be accepting and open minded to love it. Not for the homophobic. Rent has such a heart to it and makes me cry, laugh , and smile evry time I see it. Avenue Q is funny ,laugh out loud adult Seasame Street. They're awesome.

  2. I have the cast recordings for both, but haven't seen them.  If you want to see Rent on Broadway, you better hustle.  It closes in September.

  3. Rent is really weird, but is good!!!!!

  4. I really liked them both! Rent is amazing, although some of the singers can't compare to the original cast that are in the movie. Avenue q is hilarious i definitely recommend seeing that!

  5. Rent and Avenue Q are two of my favorite broadway shows. I love Rent because the music is outstanding, but if you want to listen to the music, I'd buy the movie version (the original Mimi's voice is AWFUL). All in all, that show is fantastic. Avenue Q is another great show, but people find it very offensive because of the titles of the songs ("If You Were g*y", "The Internet is for p**n", ect), but if you can get passed that, the show is actually really funny. I would go to Avenue Q if you were in the mood to laugh and have a good time, AND if you don't get offended easily.

  6. Rent: Amaziong show... bad cast. On b-way, you shouldn't see it, but if you're talking about the tour cast, then you should definately go see it. It is more of a drama with some humour.

Avenue Q: Hilarious! You should see it! Right now, ticket sales are down for them and they might close??? A Comedy.

Neither of these shows are good for kids under 13.

  7. I don't know about Avenue Q but I absolutely LOVED Rent!  I've seen it twice in the past 6 months and want to go see it again.  I'm obsessed.  I love all the characters and the songs and themes of the show.  It's amazing.

  8. Avenue Q has been recently rated by a bunch of critics as one of the 10 best musicals EVER WRITTEN, which is quite an achievement, considering it's company (Gypsy, Follies, My Fair Lady, Company, Cabaret...).

Rent is one of only 6 (i think) musicals that has won the Pulitzer Prize in drama, so it must have some value, but at this point, I think the production has gotten old and tired, and the fans aren't what they used to be anymore either.
