Question:

Are Republicans Complaining Because the White House No Longer Controls the Press?

We all know that the Media did a lousy job preceding the Iraq War. The reporters failed to ask the right questions, blindly accepted the Intelligence information Bush and others handed out, and fell into the trap set by this Administration in leaving Afghanistan for Iraq, even though bin Laden was still alive.

Now, the Media...sensing the frustration of the American people...are focusing their stories on the Democratic Candidate Barack Obama, who is soaring ahead of John McCain. This has caused major complaints from the Republicans, who are left with only Fox News among the major networks. The Corporate owners of other networks have sensed the direction the wind is blowing and the Media has done an About Face where liberal news is concerned. My question is, should Republicans accept Freedom of the Press without complaint, since they didn't complain when their views were aired constantly and the White House sent News Reports and hired phony reporters to cover events?

  1. You people kill me...Are you saying Republicans are the only ones who voted for the war??? Sorry, check your facts all the Dem's did too. But they know crying over Iraq is the only way they might squawk a win out.. And which poll has Obama Soaring ahead of McCain??? The MSNBC poll by Oberman, maybe. The media is in the tank for Obama,Why do you think the TOP three anchors of ABC CBS AND NBC,are in Iraq with him?  Freedom of the press??? Or Freedom of the Liberal press????

  2. Your beginning premise is wrong to start.  I love the way Democrats blame Bush and the media for the intelligence leading to Iraq but fail to acknowledge that most Democrats agreed with the information.  The Democrats had the same info that the White House had at the time.

The difference between your scenarios is that the current situation involves election coverage.  Election coverage is supposed to be unbiased so it has the least amount of direct effect on the election.  During this election cycle, the media is attempting to campaign for a given candidate which violates election laws.

  3. Yes!
