  1. The terms can be used interchangeably. The difference lies more in preference and habit, or culture.

The term CV (or curriculum vitae) I find more commonly used by UK or British-influenced culture and Europeans in general. Also, academics tend to use this term more than the other 2.

The term Resume, I more often hear coming from US and American-influenced culture. Multinational corporations, for one.

Bio-data seems to be a more recent coinage and used quite commonly in parts of Asia that has a more western influence, that is, where English is used as a second or a third language. Hence, its more common form of shorter and more factual information sheet of a person and his qualifications for the job at hand. More of a list, less of the narrative type of info.

All 3 refer to the same set of info companies use to screen and select applicants for a position.

  2. Resume/ CV Is Something which give the info about your past Carree & your personal details. Biodata is Somthing which give the information about your personal details like Name, Age, Date Of Birth, Address... ect.,

  3. Resume/CV are for Job applications

Bio data can be for medical examination too

Resume is the summary of your career details

CV is in depth (has more pages than a Resume literally)
