We believe that it may be a female with kits because it keeps coming in and out of the burrow at continuous intervals. Is there someone we should contact if it IS an endangered species? We don't want to accidental do anything to disturb it and cause it to abandon its babies. Does anyone know what we should do in this situation?

  1. Kill it and eat it.  They're endangered because they taste so good.  Go on- taste the forbidden fruit.

  2. There is no such thing as a 'ringtail cat'. There is the ringtail (Bassariscus astutus), which is a member of the raccoon family, Procyonidae, not a cat. It looks like this:

Is that what you mean? If so, they are not endangered.

  3. They're actually a member of the raccoon family.  They are not an endangered species.
