Are Root Canals and Crowns covered in the same price?

my girlfriends dentist, charged her $2,300 for 2 root canals, then the dentist wants to charge her another $2,000 for 2 crowns. The total work would cost around $5,000 and for some reason this seems a little high.

That sounds about right.  Crowns are charged separately then root canals.  They are two different procedures.  If I were her I would have had the teeth out and a removable partial made, it would have been a lot healthier and more affordable.  If she starts having health problems, she should buy the Root Canal cover-up book from amazon

When I was a dental assistant 3 years ago, crowns were about 800 a peice and root canals were about the same depending on how intense they were. So I'm sure prices have gone up and I live in an area where things are cheaper than most places. I would say that is probably right on. I would ask the dentist to give you a print out of the totally bill.

Well, it all depends on your location, but it is definitely within the limits. If she doesn't have insurance she could look into dental discount plans. The company that I rep for offers plans as low as $15 and covers dental, vision, prescription, chiro, and more. I could check to see if her dentist participates, and what the fees are before she decides to sign up and this could save her some money. no. I worked as a dental nurse 10 ago and it is worked out by materials used, surfaces, lab work etc. It seems very high, but this will be private treatment and that is expensive.
