Are Routiers restaurants really the cheapest and best in France ?

Hi I'm french & "Routiers" mean truckers so they are one of the cheapest but not the best (there are some good of course but this is food for workers don't expect finding fine food and fine wines) and anyway you won't find it in a town center. If you land in a place where there is this type of restaurant try it for a lunch by testing a traditional dish. But i advise you to find a travel guide for the place where you want to go you will have some good and not expensive address inside i think.
