I just want to make sure that the balcony rooms are open air. By that, I mean that when you step out to the balcony, you can feel the sea air and look around without glass being in the way, In other words, it is not just a huge window. This may seem like an obvious question, but I want to make sure before I book it.

  1. yes open, there is a glass screen about 4'6" high, then you have view when sat

  2. Yes, the balconies are fully outdoors (no glass screening).  You get to sit out and look at the water and feel the breeze.  It's pretty cool!

  3. Yes, the balconies are open and facing the ocean.  In our opinion the best balconies are the ones at the aft of the ship because you can get views of both sides of the ship and the wake of the ship as well.  The wake can be quite mesmorizing.  I suggest avoiding the baconies at the front of the ship facing the bow, these balconies tend to be windy when the ship is underway, while the view from them is great you don't normally want to leave the door open to them.

  4. I am not sure exactly what you mean.  If you are asking if the balcony is completely surrounded by glass, the answer is no.  However, there are some minor differences in the balconies on different ships.  I'll show you some examples and hope that answers your question, since you did not specify which ship you are referring to ...
