Yes, students from all around the world take the SATs on the first Saturday of day each month, except Summer time. It is to see how well each student does, since most schools grade differently, this is a perfect way for colleges to see your skills. Some students with a high gpa might have a low SAT score, while some with low gpa might have a high SAT score. Colleges look at both the SAT scores and gpa when it comes to admission. There are different versions, but all of SAT tests are pretty much the same.
