Are Safin and Safina brother and sister?

Ok, Ive once heard before that they were brother and sister. Than I heard someone say that they werent. Then I heard that they were somehow relatives. Does any one know the correct answer?

Yes they are brother and sister. Marat Safin is Dinara's older brother. I believe the last names confuses many people because of the feminine "a" at the end of Safina's name. It's a Russian spelling. For example: Yuri Sharapov is the father of Maria Sharapova.

Yes they are brother and sister. I mean come on both of them look just alike,LOL. Allot of people get confused because of the way their last names are spelled, but in Russia the women's last name's have "A's" at the end because of the alphabet being in masculine and feminine form. I'm from Russia my last name is the same way, it's hard to explain,LOL
