Are Santa Cruz surfboards good boards?

i was just looking for a good board to buy because i'm getting tired of renting boards

they are good but they are super high performance and very specialized. you should be confident in your abilities and probably should not have rented boards you tourist.

they are ok....they dont have a good vareity in short boards for my liking ....but they are pretty decent

yeah they are. if you are looking into them you might already know that they're epoxy which rides different than fiberglass. since the material is lighter and more buoyant you can generally ride a board that's a little shorter than a traditional shortboard. i'm from santa cruz and there are a handful of really good local shapers that i like more than santa cruz surfboards, however. personally, i ride pearson arrow and m10 boards; custom boards are usually a better way to go because you can have the board tailored to what you want (conditions you'll ride, type of break, surfing ability, etc.). but by no means are santa cruz boards bad. they are pricy, however.
