Are Skimboard pads worth the money? or should i stick with the wax?

i have a zap wedge, i have gotten pretty good at skimboaring and i was just curious to see if i should buy a pad or not.

i have a skim board and many people nd where i boutght it from told me wax is better but if u look most people stick with wax ur feet grip it better and its not as much money as wax. hope i helped
