People who speed while driving. That's most people. Are they cheaters in other aspects of life as well, such as in business dealings? (This question is prompted by a Yahoo story that Arizona is counting on speeders to raise badly needed revenue http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080119/ap_on_re_us/photo_radar

  1. I guess the only way to really know the answer is to catch up to one of them and ask,  but then you'd be doing the same and could ask yourself then huh?  any other dumb questions?

  2. The answer is simple, YES.

  3. If one speeds, then one is more likely to be open to "bending rules" or believe that some rules are stupid and don't apply to them.

As to if they are habitual cheaters or not, I would say not - for example:  Do all speeders drink and drive? Do they tailgate? Do they ignore other rules of the road?  So if they abide by some laws then they likely obey other social and civil rules.  Their cheating is selective.

  4. Interesting question.  Here is my take on this question based on only MY personal views.  I take driving very serious.  Never been the driver in an accident.  That said, I will speed.  BUT, speeding can be done safely.  What, you say, speeding can be done safely?  Of course it can.  Do I believe most speed limits are to slow?  Yes I do.  Take for instance a few years ago when I traveled to the Midwest along I-80 to Colorado.  Speed limit in Iowa used to be 65 mph.  Then I crossed into Nebraska and the speed limit is 75 mph.  I there any difference in the road?  None.  Did I keep my speed near 75 mph in Iowa?  Of course.  Did I tailgate, pass on the right, fail to signal a lane change, cut off any driver?  NO, I did not.  Did I take a chance running afoul with the local LEOs?  Yes I did.  Here is a point to ponder.  If you or I are exceeding the  speed limit, other drivers can see the speed I am traveling.  If you or I make a lane change without signaling our intent, how are the other drivers to know what we intend on doing?  They cannot.  That is my take on speeding.
