Question:

Are Super-cars A Favor In Italy?

by  |  earlier

Italians are known for their love of speed, and Super-cars, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, etc.

Do people like super-cars in Italy?

Do people that drive them get a lot of attention and/or respect on the road?

Would it be out of character to drive a hybrid in Italy?

  1. Of course they like this de luxe cars like in most countries but just a few can afford the top priced cars. Also with a BMW or a Mercedes you are well off... Italians like everything that looks good and expensive also like designer outfits, high priced watches etc.

  2. yeah..

I'm italian and my heart gone crazy when i see a Ferrari...who doesn't like supercars??

I live in Turin(northern Italy) and I see everyday almost one or two Porches, and almost once a week a Ferrari and Maserati in town...

i can tell you that in city they drive well, when are out of the city (ex in highway) no...they go really fast...really!!!

when i go in highway (i have a Ford Fiesta) i drive near the highest limit of speed and, if there is a Ferrari i barely can see it..in some seconds(for real..just seconds) you cannot see it..

i remember when i was child and my dad was driving, he saw from mirror back us a Ferrari and said:"look at the Ferrari", the time to pay attention and search fot it, it was so far from us(my brother even didn't saw it)...

just think italian speed limits are 120 km/h(74.6 mph), i really think they drive 250-300km/h(155.3-186.4 mph).

for normal people, well, oil is very expensive nowadays, so hybrid car would be much more better than others car... gasoline in italy is very expensive: average of prize is 1,470€ /litre and diesel is 1,455€ /litre ...so...

  3. look seriously, people prefer to drive something smaller. usually a 1.1 its pretty much standard.

  4. If you go to Italy, you'll see many exotics...I mean ALOT. Go to a populated place, everywhere you look theres an ferrari, lambo etc.

  5. - Yes, a lot of people like super-cars, but only a few can afford the price and the expenses

    - Usually Italians aren't very respectful of the road laws. You have to be very careful, because if they can, they drive at very high speed and without the opportune attention, so there are plenty of road accidents. Many people also drink alcohol before driving and don't care about it (there are almost no controls for this).

    - Hybrid cars are relatively new and people are very curious and symphatetic with them. It would be "fashionable"

P.S. :  someone here said the price of gas is 1,470 euro!!! well, don't panic! it's only the Italian way to write numbers. It means a still expensive, but much more reasonable 1.47 euro ;-)
