I'm a life long fan so see the world thru aqua marine colored glasses, but from what I am seeing/reading this was a h**l of a draft (2 OL and 2 DL have won starting jobs)...I am starting to see greatness a year or two down the road. We may actually be hard to beat this year except for the very best teams.

  1. You are 2 or 3 years away from being "For Real" it will a rough couple of seasons for you but hang on....look what the big tuna did in Dallas.

Miami will be built for future stacked for at least 5 years starting the 2010-2011 season.

  2. I seriously doubt they'll be a contender. I believe they will win maybe 4 games.

  3. No the dolphins are screwed your a team in the rebuilding stage.  I remember about 3 years ago dolphins were favored to win the superbowl and they didn't even make the playoffs.  So no mayb in about 4 years P.S. Ricky Williams ROCKS!!!!

  4. For real? No way. Perhaps in the near future, but the team has lack of depth and holes to fill everywhere. Parcells will make this team better, but it might take a while.

  5. The dolphins are re-building.  Trade away your top guys for more draft picks means you are re-building for the future.  Chris Chambers, Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor - All pro-bowlers, all traded for more draft picks.  They are doing things right by getting their linesmen first.  2 years and this team should resemble the San Diego Chargers of the last few years.  Not the cowboys who go after all the available "questionable" players, not the patriots who have a questionable coach, not the colts who have the best quarterback "luck" and built their team around him.

  6. After not having much to look forward to after Ricky'sdeparture in 04... things are finally looking up for the dolphins.... They filled the two biggest voids on their team in QB and O-line... With the addition of Jake Long and Justin Smiley this line is now formidable, also tony sparano has the most experiance dealing with the o-line as he was the o-line coach for part of his pro career... With pennington at the helm we may not get the flash of a top tiered QB but we will gain a game manager who can instill poise into the offense while limiting turn overs... With the emergencee of derrick hagan and the addition of R. Williams the receiving core isn't terrible,.. and the dual headed RB attack of ronnie and ricky is sure to wear teams out... Seemingly having a good running offense and not turning the ball over can be a large key to success so i see the dolphins winning around 8 games + or - 2 depending how their youth on defense plays out... who knows maybe arejuvenatedd chad puts this team on his shoulders and at least puts them in contention for a wild card spot...while this may be a little to optimisticc its not as impossible as many think...

  7. First off i would like to say i'm not a Dolphins fan. So, far this pre-season they're a little surprising. The entrance of Pennington as the starter has dumbfounded me. There is poise in the QB position. He needs to prove something to the league.  Even though this is the 1st year of re-building, they have surprising weapons (Ginn Jr., R. Williams). I'm considering them to be a 8/8 team this year. all we have to do is watch how this plays out.

  8. First off, all those who are basing the fins 2008 season on the record of the 2007 season need to look at the 07 results and consider if the fins were as bad as a 1-15 team.

They had 5, 3 point road losses last year and total of 6, 3 point losses including one in overtime against Washington.

This could have been a 7-9 team.

Further, most of the coaching staff has been upgraded as have most of the players.  I think 75% or so of the players are new.

In addition this most recent draft seems to have been a good one.

Although as a realist I have some concerns about the penalties and their ability to score touchdowns.  That maybe what keeps them from winning more than 8 games.

So in short, YES i would be very optimistic about this season and the near future regarding the fins.

  9. Real bad.  They still rely on several old players on defense and have no depth anywhere.  They won 1 game last year.  Of course some of their rookies are a step up from last years team.

They will be lucky to win 5 games.

  10. no they suck there not gonna be good  for 5 years.

  11. A year or two may be a little optomistic. Afterall, this is the team that was flirting with 0-16 last year. Football teams take a while to re-build. And even though parcells is great at that, they are 4-6 years away from being a real contender in my opinion.

I can you this, they will be better then last year.

  12. You can't rebuild a team from top to bottom and expect them to be successful for the first couple of years.  It's just not possible in the NFL.

  13. As long as Pennington stays consistent then they should have a pretty good season, they're D is pretty good it's the offense that needs to stay consistent and scoring

  14. For real?? No. They are merely a holographic image. It's easy to beat a hologram, they can't tackle worth a sh*t.

  15. No

  16. They are a joke.
