Are The Mongols Barbaric?

Hello, I was wondering whether The Mongols are barbaric? Does anybody know if they are. If so can you explain why they are if they a barbaric? Thank you. Best Answer gets 10 points!

The Mongols are "barbaric," because that term is an inheritance from the Roman use which called any outside threat (and sometimes, just any foreign population) a Barbarian.  So when the Mongols threatened Europe, they were "Barbarians" in the same sense that Visigoths and others had been.  

The word came into use because the Romans were basically clean-shaved and the word referred to the beards others favored.

Don't you mean "were" because there really isn't a mongol anymore in the true sense of the word but,

    In the Book Marco Polo he wrote on his travel through the area he was told tales of the early Mongols. After a village was taken all villagers were lined up against a wagon wheel and, all who stood over the wagon wheel had their heads chopped off, all who were under were taken into the tribe, the women were taken by the leader for his wife to "try out" the children for his slaves, unless he didn't want them, the men over a certain age were all killed so they wouldn't be able to live and retaliate, like Ganges Khan did.

    So.....Were they Barbaric, I would say so?
