Panama City is the capital of the country and as a result there are a lot ethnic restaurants here.

We have a great of Chinese people living here in Panama so there are a lot of Chinese restaurants.  The district known as El Dorado has a lot of them. I would guess there are about one hundred Chinese restaurants in Panama City.

There are a lot of excellent Italian restaurants too. Not as many as Chinese, but many and most of them are excellent. I am guessing there are about twenty.

There are four or five French restaurants. They tend to be more upscale.

We have about a dozen Sushi Restaurants here, including several Teppanyaki places. There's even a Beni-hana here.

There is a Sushi restaurant (Sushi-Express) that will deliver to your front door.

So the answer to your question is Yes!

I've seen plenty of Italian restaurants even though the food tastes weird.The Chinese restauraunts,however are excellent.

Please do not forget all the countries that have had to use the canal.  Any country that has had to use it, likely also has had people setting up businesses there, so the answer is yes.
