There are cliques in middle school, high school, college, at the work place, everywhere you go.  Don't worry about cliques. They are typically very superficial. Be yourself and hang around with kids you like and share interests with - you will be all the better & happier for it.

Yes there are cliques.  Don't worry about them.  I never stayed still at lunch because I went to the punks, then the popular asians/mexicans, then the nerds, then the thug mexicans.  always something new and interesting.
