I was at golfsmith and saw them for 45.99 and I thought what a waste. I can hit the nike power soft's well and they cost half of what the titleists cost.

  1. They are not worth buying new, if you can get some used with little scuffs , i like the pro v1x. casue of less spin.  But the ball i use primarily is pinnacle platinum, distance and stopping capabilities around the green.. and for 17.00 a dozen you cant beat them...

  2. the fact that you asked that question should be in and of itself the answer.  For you they're not worth it, for a good golfer they are.

  3. Let me put it to you this way-- If you are talented enough to use the Pro-V1 or Pro-V1X to its fullest capabilities, you're probably getting them for free anyway.

  4. depends on player the pro v1x spins less than the prov1 but unless u can shape your shots i would stay with a 2piece ball like the titleist next

  5. In a market economy anything is worth what people are willing to pay for it.  The ProV is the numbe one ball on the PGA tour and those guys know what they are doing when it comes to equipment.  But for us public course hacks, you can probably score as well or better with a less expensive ball.

  6. I hate paying 45.00 for a dozen PROV1X balls and I have tried pretty much every alternative out there and I get the same result , either I get a bargain ball that has great distance but it will not stop worth a d**n on the green or I find one that has good short game control but is not that long off the tee , I am a single digit handicap and I have a swing speed of 107+ and the PROV1X gives me the long distance and the bite I want on the green every time , the only ball I have found to be close is the Bridgestone B330 series but they are just as pricey maybe a few bucks less , so if you are a single digit handicap you can definitely see and feel the difference between PROV1's and other balls , If you are a total recreational player with a mid to high handicap then balls like the Nike power soft are for you .

    Good Luck

  7. Nope.   Your average golfer is wasting money buy spending that much.   Look for the 20-25 dollar/doz Titleists if thats your brand choice...

  8. I play the Pro V1 x, and it has given me a lot more money back on bets on the course because of the way it lands and releases on the green so you have a much better chance to leave it close for a birdie or par save!!

  9. nope  only benifit pro shop , and mastercard go with the nxt one half the price more durable . need high swing speed to get same distance as nxt . same spin results  . nxt longer  waste of beer money . win more skins with nxts

  10. You will only notice the difference as you approach low single digit handicap.

Pro V1's are designed to be played by people who hit the sweet spot every time and have high swing speeds.

  11. They certainly make a difference if you are a quality player.
