  1. Depends; I grew up in and live in Toronto; not sure what parts of the city you've seen, but trust me- there's some pretty rough neighbourhoods here.  If you get out of the downtown core, you shouldn't have much trouble finding them.

I can't compare to Montreal (sorry), but yeah- there's quite a few areas in the big smoke that are pretty poor.  Even some of the suburbs have rough spots.

  2. Well, Toronto can be quite ghetto in certain areas.

I'd stay in Montreal if I were you. Everyone loves Montreal. Anyone that isn't from Toronto HATES Toronto.

  3. I think it's about the same; what with the economy and all. And I agree with the others: stay in Montreal. Toronto has the biggest collection of idiots in the country. No, wait, Montreal is also the city that burned 16 police cruisers after the Habs beat the Bruins....hmmmm...go to Ottawa.

  4. I'd go for Montreal if I were you. Like Erin said, pretty much anyone who's not from Toronto hates it.

  5. Depending on the neighborhood.

And yes, there are poor people.

Probably more than in Montréal because of the number of inhabitants.

    Personally, I prefer Montréal.

Though my choice of residence is BC.
