  1. yes it is but is better to change it to Dominican peso cuz a dollar from us is like 37 peso in dr u get more to spend .

  2. U.S. Dollars are always welcome here, our economy has some dependency on that. But when you come here, don't come with large cash, just bring your Visa, MC or AMEX (confirm with your bank). Check currency before you travel.

  3. The US dollar is the most widely accepted currency. When I visited Dominican Republic, there was a shopping center in Higuey where I paid with US dollars and they gave me the change in Dominican pesos because that was their "policy". Even though they accept dollars, next time I will exchange a small amount to Dominican pesos. (you can exchange your currency at your hotel)

  4. of course

  5. u s dollar is the best currancy to use in dom rep. euro also accepted. got home from there today. 28/02/08

  6. OK first the currency is the PESOS DOMINICANOS (RDS)

The exchange rate is (today) for 1 us$ = 33,70 rds.

I suggest you take money from the cashier at your hotel or nearby to get less % to pay (your bank) and never change money in the street! Yes you can pay your excursions with us dollars and do schopping with the local curency, it's better and cheaper. Hope this helped and enjoy your stay!

  7. Dude U.S Dollars is widely accepted on ever country in this planet earth is like VISA,Mastercard and american express ok don't worry just bring your dollars and have fun with your vacation or if you have ATM card just take money out on ant bank there ok
