yes, but you would be better off getting the currency exchanged especially for minor transactions...like if you need a cab ride,etc. you can get the exchange done at the airport itself.

No. It is not. you have to get it exchanged to local currency. you can do it from airport. there are ATM's in every nook and corner of the country.
