I was thinking of adding Steeda Underdrive Pulley's to a 1999 Mustang GT with a 4.6L V8, but they are like $200 so i was wondering if they are worth the money.

P.S. I have already added bbk L/T headers, a bbk off road H-Pipe, magnaflow magnapacks, a new accufab throttle body and plenum and a k&n cold air intake system. Thanks for any info you can provide!

  1.   Yes they do free up a few ponies but I have removed them from customers car as well. They are slowing down the revolutions your accessories make. The biggest down side is that If your doing alot of quick trips your battery has a hard time being charged up. Also if you go somewhere in the rain at night, everything possible thats drawing electricity is on (wipers, heater, rear defroster, stereo, headlights) then you get to the store to do a little shopping and when you come out no battery to start the car. I install them and I take them off, they give you a few easy horsepower that you dont have to sacrifice extra fuel to get but as with any modification there are some potential disadvantages. If they were perfect the manufacture would install them that size.

  2. I would not for the money they cost I would work on rear suspension with $200

  3. If you want to go fast buy an LS1 car. Camaro, Firebird or Vette.

  4. not enough gain for the money and when normal driving your alternator isn't turning as fast so your battery will be low.
