  1. Not neccesarily, depends on alot of factors give us a car your comparing too.

  2. yes more power, speed, and bigger engine to show off at rod runs too!!

  3. it all depends on the weight size maintenance and anything else that comes into factors of making the vehicle move

  4. neither is faster than the other. speed is regulated by the gear ratios attached to the back of the engine. the v6 will how ever have more power/torque available. btw you wont find a v 4, an h4 possibly but no Vs.

  5. You asking whether vehicle moves faster....

If engine spinning rpm is the same.

    Yes, burn fuel/petrol faster.

    Generate more power, and heat.

More power, means spin wheels faster.

    Car move faster.

You asking whether engine moves faster...

If V6 and V4 output same power.

V6 engine would spin slower. ;-)

  6. This is one of those questions that will be sparking debate for a long time, if we define faster as having more horsepower and torque then most of the time yes they are.  Here is my definition, the fastest V6 car, is faster than the fastest V4 car.

  7. all else being equal, yes.

  8. Well both engines in stock form turn about the same rpm's at redline so all things equal the top speed would be the same.

The V-6 has more power so it would get to that speed in less time.

In other words the V-6 is "quicker" not really "faster"

I assume you are talking about buying a car that had both a 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder option.

  9. That depends on a lot of things.  They will definately have more power and torque.

  10. it totally depends. Generally yes I would say that 6 cylinders will have more power than a 4 cylinder. But it depends on compression and how many liters the cylinder is, how heavy the car is, if it is naturally aspirated and many other factors

  11. Depends on the engine and there is no such thing as a V4 in cars. All 4 cylinder engines are Inline 4s.

    A 1.6 liter Honda Civic engine (D16) makes ~100hp

    A 2 liter Honda S2000 engine (F20) makes 240hp

    A 2.4 liter Nissan 240SX engine (KA24DE) makes 155hp

    A 3 liter Nissan 3rd Gen Maxima (VG30E) engine makes 160hp

    A 3.5 liter Nissan 350Z engine (VQ35DE) makes 280-306hp

    A 3.8 liter Nissan GT-R engine (VR38DETT) makes 480-500hp

Of the above all of these engines are naturally aspirated but the GT-R. The S2000, 350Z and GT-R all require premium gasoline because of increased cylinder pressure. The Nissan Maxima runs at a very low 9:1 compression ratio and with different pistons to make 10:1 would climb to 175-190hp or so (which would require 91 octane or higher without a timing r****d).

There are a handful of inline 4s that can make 1000hp modifed and there are a handful of V6s that can make 1500hp modifed, but there are also ones that would blow to smithereens before you could make 500.
