The following is a mandatory policy, requiring a US Veterans signature in exchange for legitimate pain medication,

VA Clinic Policy, Viera, FL

provided I follow the terms of (sign) this agreement.

I agree to waive any applicable privilege or right of privacy or confidentiality with respect to the prescribing of my pain medication. (a required waiver of rights?)

I agree that I will submit to a blood or urine test, if requested by my provider, to determine my compliance with my regimen of pain control medicine.

(4th Amendment Rights down the toilet)

Drug screens testing positive for any substance other than those prescribed for me can result in discontinuation of my controlled substance pain medication.

I understand that if my mediation is stopped suddenly, I could have narcotic withdrawal symptoms, which can be very uncomfortable or dangerous.

The following is the applicable part of US Code of Federal Regulation, Title 38

Protections and rights for Veterans Healthcare

§ 7333. Nondiscrimination against alcohol and drug abusers and persons infected with the human immunodeficiency virus

Veterans eligible for treatment under chapter 17 of this title who are alcohol or drug abusers or who are infected with the human immunodeficiency virus shall not be discriminated against in admission or treatment by any Department health-care facility solely because of their alcohol or drug abuse or dependency or because of their viral infection.

U.S. Code Title 38.

“to grant permission freely without coercion.”
