I live in PA and ride Lake Clarke and the Chesapeake Bay. Since they is only a handful of riders I taught myself and I am a basic rider. I would like to start working on 360s and thought a camp might help. I saw "The Book" but I always question learning from a video; help?

  1. Riding with a professional instructor who takes videos and critiques your riding real time will greatly improve your riding in a short period of time.  There is not substitute for seeing yourself on video and having someone who know the appropriate techniques to both tell you and show you what you are doing wrong to aide in your progression.  The Book is a great series, you might want to download the mobile edition to an iPod video so that you can view the trick/technique before and after your sessions so that you can attempt a trick then picture what you are doing compared to what the video is instructing while in the boat.  Both professional instruction and 'The Book' videos should help you progress quicker than going it alone.  Good luck and above all, have fun.

  2. Yes...i went to two clinics already this season and my riding has improved consideably. Hit up wakeboard alliance dot com...they have lists of camps and might even have user ratings of those spots. I wakeskate normally and the instruction that they gave my in the 2 days i spent with instruction allowed me to ollie the deck higher and learn fundamentals of wake to wake kickflips. Its a good idea if you want to learn great tip and techniques to incorporate into your own riding style.
