  1. We are all bricks, each with a unique color in this multicolored wall of sciety. Each of us fills a hole, and without even one of the bricks, there would be a hole in that wall.

As for you question, each of us CAN stand out in society, but depends on how social and interactive you choose to be. I help out at a church, so I feel my presence is felt. I don't follow the conventional ethics, because I didn't grow up following these ethics. My identity is defined by who I choose to be, not by the society I live in. In fact, I oppose this society, regardless of my involvement in it.

  2. I quit my day job to become an artist. I decided that settling on the rat race, and mediocrity, were not what I wanted to do with life. So I quit my day job and decided to pursue a career in art. It is what I am passionate about, and I could see myself pursuing a career in which I am truly happy to wake up every morning and go to work.

I am also neither a Democrat nor Republican. My political opinions are my own, and no two-bit radio commentator or sensationalist mockmentary director is going to tell me how to think.

  3. no but I am rapidly becoming comfortably numb.

  4. After hippies, there came this notion of conforming habits being bad. I don't understand where this 'be different from everyone else at all costs' c**p came from. Why can't we just do what we enjoy? If it coincides with a general viewpoint or activity that is shared by a majority then so be it. 'Unique people' conform to their own.

  5. I'm a shytehouse brick in the wall.

  6. Is that what the wall metaphor means?

  7. no, I'm just a lost soul, swimming in a fish bowl. year after year.

I'm just a distant ship smoke on the horizon.

    I am a  raver, I am a seer of visions, I am a painter,

    I am a  piper, a prisoner, I  shine!

I am the thin ice of modern life

I have, have become, comfortably numb.

  8. Bricks, huh?

My answer is an emphatic no to being a wall brick.

A stone to pave a cobbled road,  where mankind tread on, etc, thats mostly what regular people are. We are the barnacles where barnacles grow from, sharp and even spiny. Cross us and we can hurt the interloper and draw out his blood.

But brick?- to build edifices? monuments to someones glory?

    I hope not.

Please take a better metaphor to compare us to.

    1. pebbles

    2.  stones

    3.  tiles

    4.  granite slab

    5.  marble slab

    6.  4 x 4 post?

    7. Hollow blocks

    Lol.

  9. I'm the beautiful vine that grows all around the brick wall.

  10. No I am not just another brick on the wall. I am like a delicate dove in the middle of hard breath taking bricks. That are crushing me more and more every minute. But i the dove don't want to live in the hard core cave of bricks but I want to be able to fly my own way.

  11. we are all bricks in the wall. but each one has it's purpose. are the bricks at the top of the wall any more important than the ones that form the base. it takes every brick to keep the wall standing

  12. I'm the proverbial "hole in the wall".  People see right through me. But at least I make it clear.  Sometimes I stand out in my community, because no one will answer the door and let me in.  One time I tried following some of those ethnics you mentioned, but they started shooting at me.  And I always carry ID - my name is sewn into my underwear.

    Thorough enough?

  13. im the top most brick lol!!!!!!!
