Are You Interested In These Hitters?

Here are their numbers;

#1- 209 at-bats, 34 runs, 13 HRs, 44 RBIs, 7 SB, .268 BA

#2- 271 at-bats, 51 runs, 6 HRs, 30 RBIs, 5 SB, .303 BA

You interested in one of them? If so, who would you give up to get one of them in a trade? And would you pick up one of them up if they was available in your league?

Answer these questions and you get a 'thumbs-up' rating and maybe the 10 points. I will post who they are later. Please do not try to look up or post who they are...

  1. I would take batter #1.  Batting Average is not an important statistic any more.  Batter #1 gives you more offensive production than batter #2.  Batter #2 looks like a number 2 hitter and batter #1 looks like a number 3 hitter.  Who are they?  What are their respective OPS numbers?  How deep is your league?  If it's a 6 or 8 team league these guys are a bust.  They are maybes in a 10 team league.  And they're great pickups in a 12 team league.

  2. I take #1 and I am basing this strickly on the fact his at bats suggest this is a very good hitter who spent time on the DL. The fact he has stolen more bases suggests a surge in his runs scored production eventually and he clearly has a power bat. The BA isnt all that desirable but again I am guessing that an injury at least partly plays into this. With player #1 already outpacing #2 in 3 of 5 categories it isnt a strecth to think he cant outpace him eventually in at least the runs scored category and close the gap on the BA at least a little bit. I am interested in who they might be (too lazy to look them up myself) , that will tell the whole story (could just be player #1 is an average guy who caught fire for a month and is back to being a bench guy or fringe fantasy guy).And maybe the #2 hitter is a SS, not bad production from there making him more valuable if one needs a better SS. I will check in later.....very interesting question, nice change from the same ole' "Who's better" questions.
