  1. I'm married, we didn't get married in a church - a non-denominational minister married us in an outdoor ceremony. Our honeymoon trip was a Caribbean cruise. You best bet to find out how the particulars of the Catholic wedding work is to contact your church of choice and ask them. They deal with marrying people all the time, and they will tell you everything that you need to know. BTW, as far as I know, Catholics are Christians too.

  2. No I am not Married.

  3. I'll be married 8/1/09. My husband and I are both Lutheran, we are getting married in our church. There is no "cost" but we are giving a $200 donation. You'd have to check with yur priest to see if he will marry you in the Catholic church. Some will, some won't. You could always get married in a Protestant church.

We are going to California for our honeymoon.

And by the way, Catholics are Christians too lol. If you're not Catholic but you're still Christian, you're another Christian denomination - Protestant, non-denominational, Latter Day Saints, etc. ( =

    Good luck with everything!

  4. I am planning my wedding.

I am Christian my Fiance is Catholic. I am current going through the classes to convert so we can get married by a priest. But during the ceremony I am also having my pastor there standing with the priest.

We are going to Trinidad for our honeymoon, all inclusive.

Price, right now we are looking at about $10,000+ for everything.

  5. My husband and I got married in a catholic church. I am Lutheran and he is catholic. I did not have to convert to get married there, we just had to agree to raise our children catholic. (although some churches are different...) We spent around $20,000. We split the cost three ways between our parents and ourselves. Our parents agreed on paying for certain things and then we did the rest. (We did not ask them to pay for stuff, they volunteered) My husband is in the excavating business so he get laid off in the winter time(we live in MN) We plan on going on our honeymoon in the winter. His uncle owns a time share in the Dominican so he is letting us use it as a wedding gift. Good luck with your wedding planning!

  6. not  for another 11 mts and by its a lot of work organiszing it but fun too how bout you?

  7. Yes, I'm married. We had a traditional church wedding, Ukrainian Catholic. Cost was way too much, but we could afford to host our 200 guests to a lovely time!

    No honeymoon.

You need to go see your fiance's parish priest, and talk to him about marriage there. It is possible - you both would need to go through premarital classes, and you would have to agree to raise the children Catholic.

  8. yes i am married.

we did it at the court house. $25 for the license and $300 for a lawyer i was under 17 at the time.

we are both Christians. so i can not help any in that.

but i do know the Bible says you need to be =ly yoked. i have no way of telling you you guys are not but go to the word and pray then talk to the pastors and look at what they say.

if you do not agree look for a church you guys both like and agree with.

  9. yes, i'm married...wife's family is jewish, mine christian...neither of us practice any religion...we were married at the ritz carlton in palm beach florida (mother-in-law paid for the wedding and reception...set her back about $60k)...for our honeymoon we took a cruise through the mediterranean and black seas

  10. I was married in the Catholic church this past May.  The cost of the ceremony part was cheap - we paid the pianist $150, the soloist did it as a gift for us, and the priest was paid (or donated, I guess) $150.

We didn't have time to have a honeymoon - four days after our wedding we moved from MN to TX for my husband's new job.  We're hoping to go somewhere next year for our one year anniversary.

As long as your husband has received all the sacraments in the Catholic church (baptism, communion, confirmation), you guys will have no problem.  Each parish does things a little differently, but you'll probably be required to do some pre-marital counseling (most Catholic churches require this for ALL couples getting married in the church).  Talk to the priest at the church you will be married in (I'm assuming this is your fiance's church).

  11. Your husband (not you anymore) has to agree to raise your children Catholic (or to try to). You will be strongly discouraged from having a mass, but if you or he insists on it the priest can celebrate a mass at his discretion (assuming that you're both baptized, since you self-identify as Christian).

The church normally does not cost, but it is appropriate to provide the officiant with a stipend of 5-10% of your wedding costs. If the wedding is being celebrated at a church other than one where the officiant is pastor the money should be split between the two parishes.

  12. Church Wedding. Was free.  Didn't do a honeymoon since my family was in town from 1,500 miles away.  Rented a volunteer fire dept hall for $20.

    I didn't want anything expensive.

  13. i'm catholic and had a catholic wedding. we had to give the church a $400 donation.

unfortunately you will have to become c atholic to be married by a catholic priest

  14. Yes, I am married. (for 4 years now)

Married at my Church (I'm Lutheran, He is Catholic) His church is/was too strict and wouldn't marry us unless I converted. Didn't want to and didn't feel a need to convert. We both share the same moral/general beliefs.

The church didn't cost anything to use, but donated $100 and gave my pastor a 'gift' of $100.

Wedding/Honeymoon was less than $10,000 (paid ourselves)

We went to Honolulu, Hawaii for the honeymoon.
