  1. Absolutely ...................... 100% !!

However, I am NOT pround of what the PC "Do-Gooder" Brigade and the lying, scheming, spinning scum of New Labour are turning this once great nation into !!

It is time for all true patriots of these islands to stand up and say ENOUGH to those who would see the UK turned into an islamic state or a "just another region" in the Unted States of Europe !!

  2. Difficult one ...

    - proud of a name imposed by the Roman colonial powers by mistake? (A Roman official mixed up the Pratanni, who lived in what is now a part of England, with the Bretonni, who lived in the place now called Brittany, and called the place 'Insulae Britannica').

    - is it sensible to be pround of something which is not a personal achievement?

  3. I have to agree with My Grain-there are just too many negative associations with the union flag. And let's be honest, what do we actually have to be proud of? Our influence in the world is minimal, our manufacturing & shipping industries are gone, we have gangs of teenagers killing people seemingly at random, chronic traffic congestion, serious overpopulation made worse by unchecked immigration, the shittiest climate this side of the Arctic, we are taxed to death and beyond, we are the most spied upon (CCTV & other) nation on earth, you can't go 31 mph without getting a ticket, our town centres are dying and being replaced by identical to eachother retail parks, when we go on holiday to Europe we are feared and hated due to our inability to have a drink without causing a riot, we are the fattest and unhealthiest nation in Europe, we have the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe, the highest prison population in Europe, and it seems that the balls we used to show when faced with a threat have been long since cut off.

    Britain? It's a shithole.

  4. Americans are proud of their flag  (Iexcept hollywood) I don't see why Britain would not be.

    U.K. has enough patriotic songs

  5. Ask Harry also

  6. If I lived in Britain I might.

  7. The Best Way is to see it is next to The Canadian Flag, The Abashiri Sister City Flag, and one other flag the type of which escapes the answerer at the momment.

  8. If I was British, I'd be very proud to be.....but I'm American

with ancestors of English decent....I'm proud to be that too!

  9. Bloody right I'm proud.

  10. Not proud.. quite ashamed. I dont like the British culture at all

    -racist

    -homophobic

generally just very old fashioned and discriminative.

  11. It rather depends on who is doing the waving - if its a bunch of neo-n**i thugs claiming to represent 'Britishness' - then no I don't feel proud.

However, if it is flying outside a British embassy in some other country then yes I do.

  12. no im not proud. what have we got to be proud about?  we dont win any sports events. we kow tow to bush. we give our country to immigrants and we fail to care for the elderly. we fail to care for pregnant mums and our children leave school without an education.  no im not proud to be english

  13. .going back in my ancestry through five generations. like a great many others giving their, lives in the service of Britain yes I can say definitely proud to be British.

  14. i certainly am .. proud to be British .. but hey .. im nearly 40, i grew up in a good england

  15. It's nice to feel that we belong to a (sometimes) free and democratic country, but I feel it's best to stay rather muted on this point. Patriotism can evolve into Nationalism and then quickly become Fascism - and who wants that?

  16. I am welsh which makes me British which makes me European which makes me an earthling, why don't we all just be happy with being human and all try to get along instead of always having some countries at war all the time.

  17. What is British? Nothing but a very sophisticated wolf pack that expands and defends its territory by sending battleships half way round the globe.

Every nationalist is proud of the way its leaders have aggressively expanded its borders from centuries past and their raison d'etre is one of bleak materialism that encounters other wolf packs with the same bleak and meaningless egocentric philosophy of power and possession.

Nationalism is a permanent reminder of h**l. Its what creates the convenient twin headed monster of religion and State.

  18. Very proud because of what we have given to the world, democracy, freedom from tyrants, which many laid down their life's for........ then think of our inventions & discoveries.

  19. a bit of both. haha

  20. yepp im proud. british till i die wudnt want it any ova way

  21. I am proud of our  long history, the contribution our country has made toculture - literature (shakespeare,Orwell, Brontes to name a few) pop music (Beatles, Smiths among many others), poetry,  comedy (used to be best in the world before PC)

I am proud that this country fought against Hitler and Napoleon in a just war unlike the present ones. We have contributed greatly to science and medicine. We have great characters in our history but none in our present.

I'm not proud of much in Britain 2008 - it sickens me to the core

I'd wave the flag in rememberance of the Britain I knew and have read about. We need a new flag which represents the Britain of today so the Union flag doesn't get tainted by the **** present that the person above talked of.

The Britain of 2008 is too wrapped up in the EU regulations and directives.

But as we know it is the purpose of politicians to make Britain c**p and nationalism a thing of the past and not teach about our proud history in schools and dumb us all down to prepare us for an easy EU takeover

  22. Proud as punch, with a slight ting of concern for our future.

  23. I am very proud to be British and i am by no means ashamed of the fact!!

  24. No I'm proud to be Scottish.

  25. I'm ashamed and embarressed. It's mainly due to how the Brits act abroad and their arrogance. I lived abroad for many years and can see how other nationalities perceive us.We are also in the top of the nationality hate lists along with Germans and Americans. For a long time when people asked my nationality I would apologise first then started calling myself 'European'.

  26. why on earth would anyone be proud of this washed-up little island in the Atlantic?
