Obviously this question is for European citizens, but if you're from any other continent it would be interesting to know about your views on Europe.

  1. I'm only proud of the things I've put some effort into, or any other kind of life energy or passion, because they fill me with a sense of accomplishment. What's to be proud about in a twist of destiny (or coincidence, depending on your beliefs) by which you had been born in one geographical location, and not in another?

I can only be proud of my own nation into whose creation of history, tradition and set of values my ancestors have laid their lives as contributions. This spirit is forever present in me and it makes me proud to be a Serb and a Slav.

Europe is a holiday destination to me, and an old lady unsuccessfully turned into a grotesque global EU model, wiping out all the subtle differences among its own nations.

  2. Geographically Yes Politically No

  3. Yes l am proud. I agree with the first answerer, it's true that E.U though a very strong group - union of countries, has low influence in political issues - matters both in Europe and in the international level.

  4. i grew up there and my ancestors are from europe so i say yes,i'm proud to be european.

  5. Not in the slightest. I use the word "Europe" to define the mainland, therefore to my mind, it does not include Great Britain.

Europe has given us a variety of good things, from Napoleon to the Terreur of the French Revolution, to Hitler and World War Two, to the crass anti-democratic behaviour of this dictatorship of the bureaucrats that is the EU. Personally, the only good thing to have come out of Europe in recent times is Protestantism.

  6. Its easily the finest most diverse continent on earth and every country has fantastic people and a rich heritage and history

Shame we are policed by bureaucratic criminals in Brussels though

It would be a better place if we all had a bonfire together around the EU parliament building sometime

  7. Yep, and I'm doubly proud to be British!

  8. No, I'm not. Simple. NO.

    No identity left...
