Are Zebras a type of horse that is wild like a wolf compared to a dog or if not how closely are they related?

  1. Zebras are part of the horse family. They can be bred together, but the young are sterile, where if you breed a wolf and a dog the young can still reproduce. It has to do with how many chromosomes they have I think.

  2. They are in the same Family Equus.  They are as closely related to horses as donkeys.  So they can be bred, but they will creat a hybrid called a Zorse that is sterile.

  3. I dont think they are as closly related as a wolf to a dog. As to what degree though, I am not sure.
