Question:

Are a few odd specks in the iris of the eye of any medical concern?

One of my eyes has about four brown/black specks in the iris (but not pupil), the other eye does not. As far as I know, I do not have any real medical eye conditions except normal nearsightedness. Also, though probably irrelevant, my eyes are greenish, with some hazel.

  1. The great majority (that's like 99.9%) of "specks" in the iris are of no medical importance whatsoever.  They are simply variations in pigmentation.  If you should ever notice a CHANGE in the size or color of a "speck" , though, you should have it looked at closely by an eye doctor.
