Question:

Are a lionfish and porcupine puffer compatible with each other?

i have a lionfish about 3 inches long and i was thinking of purchasing a porcupine puffer. can they get along or will they fight or bite each other? also...the lionfish i have currently is eating live fish only, how do i get it to eat frozen foods?

  1. my lps has the two in the same tank, and they are in perfect health. get a small puffer, and it should be fine


  2. I've kept both never together. they both tend to drift towards the top or middle of the fish tank. They will compete for food. You wont have too many problems with the lion fish attacking the puffer as long as the puffer doesn't fit in its mouth. Puffers tend to pick at fins and are not as hardy as lion fish so they might bring parasites and other unwanted dieses into your tank. As far as getting your fish to eat frozen start with brine shrimp and work your way up to krill and silver sides and see how that works out.
