Are adjustable automoble airbags available for short drivers.?

My husband just bought a used car with airbags for his mother. She is under 5 ft. and afraid of being injured by the airbag. Is the only alternative to disable the airbag and to do without the protection of an airbag?

No they are no adjustable but you can buy pedal extenders from any handicap supply store or you can make them yourself from metal or wood, also you will need to use a non skid surface like sandpaper that has one side that is tacky.
