Are adolescents depressive?

I know they are, but can you tell me more about it? :D

yes they are very depressive, partly caused by mood swings and also a crucial phases are developing when peer pressure comes in, crushing them completely.they also slowly start to develop frustration, which ends up in  depression

Several things play into it...hormone fluctuations, realizing the world is not as perfect as you pictured it as a child., high expectations of yourself and others that aren't always met, trying to come to grips with who you are...you're not the best built, smartest, suave dude that you'd like to be  (that takes time and effort), coping with being dissed by your peers, who are equally perplexed with themselves.  But it gets much better.  Teen years are great highs and great lows.  Many things seem more important than they actually are, other  things have no significance now, but  will mean a lot to you later.   It's a transitional , sorting out time.  Lots of teens have trouble with their parents, that's normal, too.  Parents want the best for their kids and teens seems determined to s***w it all up.  Parents get frustrated, yell, scream and ground their kids.  Remember, they have no more experience at parenting a teen than you have at being one.

As hard as it is to do, if you can keep good communication with your parents, things will be so much better.  Also, teen years are basically a selfish time..so preoccupied with self.   I can't tell you how much it means to parents if occasionally you do something unexpected for them.You could wash the family car, run some errands, help with dinner, or just simply hug them.  Good medicine for all.

Don't occupy yourself with sad movie, songs, etc., it adds to the depression.  If you feel it's a problem talk to someone, it helps tremendously.
