Question:

Are all 6-2 rotations the same? Oh, and one more thing!?

I did a 6-2 where the setter pushed up, and now we are hiding the setter on a different team? So are all 6-2 rotations the same, or can they be switched up and different? Thank you for your answers: they are greatly appreciated!

My other thing is that when we are on the court, i try to get my team pumped, so i'm all like "ok you guys, good server back up, pass it right here, we want a kill!" and say things to get them ready and some people think im bossy when i stay stuff like that. Would you think that as bossy, or just trying to keep your team aware?

  1. lol i have that problem too. people think i'm a freak when i say those things. our team has a slight attitude. if they say " we know !!" then stop. but you're definately not being bossy. uh....we're doing 6-2 i think. well, it all depends on where the setter is and the middle and the outside. and, well yeah, there's tons of different rotations for it. but it's not like there's a 6-2 edited style' or anything like that

  2. Yeah i remember when ppl on our team use to say things like that and everyone got mad..

or thought they was been bossy..

I don't think that been bossy

i think that is just gettin them ready so you'll can "WIN"

  3. They are different.  They are actually different for every team sometimes.  They think your bossy try my captain you haven't seen bossy yet!

  4. When playing 6-2, you push up your setter when your team is serving, and hide the setter when you serve receive.

Pump-up needs to be done **after** each rally, not before.

I might have to say your wording needs to be changed, otherwise it would be "called"/felt bossy (I understand you didn't mean to be bossy).

We encourage high-fives, "nice swing", etc on the court, but not "hey you, come back more quickly after you serve" :)

A good way to judge whether you should say it or not is to let another teammate call out what you want to say, and see whether you would like to hear it again and again.

  5. that is deffinatly not bossy thats the best thing to do...that is totaly captain potential i always do that along with many other things, just try more to pump up the team and smile 24/7 lol good luck!

  6. The basics of a 6-2 are the same.  However, some coaches will tweak things differently.  There are thousands of different serve receive formations.  That might be what you are seeing.

I might have left off the "we want a kill," and you can leave the rest.  It is not being bossy.  It is being informative.

  7. Well a 6-2 is where one setter is in the front and one in the back.

This way its easier for a ball to be set in case of a "shank" or bad pass.

About being bossy.  First of all you should be the captain of your v-ball team(don't know if you are).  From my experiences just calm your players down and don't say "pass it right here."

Say something like guys lets play hard, give good passes, good chemistry, call out for the ball, work as a team, etc.(from my v-ball experiences.)
