Question:

Are all Mexico cruises all inclusive?

I am going to Cabo for by bestfriends wedding the weekend after I get married and I want to make it a honeymoon as well. We want to go on a cruise. Are there cruises that are all inclusive? And if not what is a average budget for a cruise? Not for the price to get on the boat, but like for food and activities and drinking. (Because there will be alot of that!) Any advice for Mexican cruises would be helpful! Thanks!

  1. this site has good info on cruises:

  2. on a cruise, the food is included. as much as you possible can eat. if you want to order everything on the menu you can. hey, if you plan your time right, you can eat 6 times a day.

the only thing the cruise does not include is your soda, alcoholic beverages, shore excursions, shopping on the ship, and gratuities.

  3. It's inclusive of all the onboard activities & entertainment.  Food is included but drinks are not.  Expect to spend a couple hundred $ on drinks since it adds up.  You end up buying a drink as soon as you board.  And they're brought to you buy the pool so you can't resist.  In Mexico alcohol is super cheap ($1 corona's)  except at the beach cause they bring it to you but it's still a good deal.  Excursions are also extra, but you can always just take a taxi to the beach on your own.   Also bring at least one bottle each in your checked luggage... trust me they won't care worst case they confiscate & give it back to you after the cruise.   (orange, cranberry juice is free).   Have a great time :)

  4. Your lodging and food is included in the price. You will need to pay for any alcohol, gambling, shore excursions, and anything you buy in the ships stores.  A good place to find cruises to mexico is at "Amazing Tours and Travel"

  5. All the cruise lines include food and some drinks.  However, no cruise line is totally ALL inclusive.  The more expensive luxury lines do include alcoholic drinks.  The others do not.  Only the most expensive luxury lines include tips.  The others do not.  None of the cruise lines include shore excursions, photographs, items you buy at the store, gambling at the casino or spa treatments in the cost of the cruise.

So, if you go on a luxury line and you don't go on any shore excursions, don't buy any photographs, don't gamble, don't shop on board and don't have any spa treatments, then the cruise will be all inclusive.  If you don't go with a luxury line, then you can still avoid all the extras except the tips (which typically run $10 per day per person).  However, you indicated that you will be drinking.  Since I don't drink that much, I don't know what to suggest, but plan on spending six to ten dollars per person per drink.

Also, while food and most drinks are included (typically what is not included are alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, bottled water and special coffee), there are optional extra cost options for food.  Usually these alternative restaurants are smaller, have better service and offer more expensive sea food and steak options.

I also get motion sickness very easily.  I have been on seven cruises and never gotten seasick on a cruise ship.  The cruise ships are big and have stabilizers.  As a result, cruise ships are fairly steady.

On one cruise I was warned ahead of time that it might be rough.  So I brought some ginger tablets with me.  I took one in the morning with water before breakfast and one before dinner, also with water.  I was fine.  I heard others on the ship got sick, so I guess the ginger worked.  I like ginger because it is not a drug and because it is the only thing that worked on Mythbusters.  It also helps to eat bland foods, like bread and crackers.

The best cabins for reduced motion are low and near midship.  However, seasickness is caused by a conflict between what the eyes see and what the ears sense.  So if you are inside, your eyes will not see any movement, but your ears will sense the movement and you could get seasick.  Thus a good place to be is outside where you can see the horizon.  This also works in reverse.  I go sick one time sitting on a couch playing a video game.  My eyes saw movement, my ears did not, and soon I was loosing my lunch.

  7. I have been on two cruises (both to Mexico)and on both of these, all food and non alchoholic drinks were included. If you plan on drinking much alchohol- bring plenty of dough.

  8. I have been on eight cruises (I going on another in three weeks) and I' ve never even heard of one that wasn't "all inclusive"  You do buy your own drinks.  There are some shops you can spend money in, but you don't have to.  The service, food, and entertainment has always been excellent.  Make sure your cruise itinerary shows that you will be in Cabo all day so you have plenty of time for the wedding.  One hour before you get on the ship take your seasick pill or apply the patch.  You probably wouldn't get sick anyway.  Ships these days are so big and have such good stabilizers that there is very little movement you can feel.

I have taken this Mexican Riviera cruise three times and always enjoyed myself.  DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING IN MEXICO.  Congrats on you wedding.  Have a wonderful time.
