Are all asthma attacks fatal?

I got a cold maybe like 5 days ago and my mom said that it was starting to sound like I have asthma that's caused by a cold. I looked up the symptoms and I think she's right. I'm probably being a worry wart because I'm home alone and I get nervous when I'm home alone and have something like this. I know that I probably wont have an attack but I'm still worried that I might.

I was also reading about attacks and that if asthma symptoms aren't treated then you can have an attack and you can die. But I was wondering if all attacks are fatal? Also, what to do if you start to have an attack? And lastly, if you can have an attack if you only have asthma that's caused by a cold?

  1. no.. not all of them are fatal.. but please get treatment.. you won't have mini attacks anymore

  2. I don't know if you always DIE from an attack.

But I do know that I had Asthma related to colds, and I would actually have seizures when the cold got bad.

I don't think you have anything to worry about though. Especially when your mom left you at home when you are "sick". Moms are usually the best judges of your symptoms, since they've seen you sick.

  3. you can have asthma type symptoms without having asthma... and if it is simply a result of having a cold, I very much doubt you have asthma, it isn't something that comes and goes.  As for attacks, no, they are in fact rarely fatal, and then only in those with long term damage from chronic and ongoing disease.  Suggest you relax.

  4. Don't be ridiculous, if everyone that had an asthma attack died there would be no asthma reliever inhalers and no asthmatics!! Most asthma suffers are fine when they have an attack with the exception of people that have brittle asthma or severely under controlled severe asthma. Obviously there are asthma deaths every year but only a tiny percentage of the people that have attacks die. If you think you may be developing asthma see your GP x

  5. Not a doctor, but most likely no

  6. I dont think so but don't quote me on this

  7. No theyre sure not.

  8. Definitely not. As long as you've got an inhaler or meds to use when you do get an attack, it usually ends up fine. Although it's true that asthma attacks *can* cause death, they don't always.

  9. Not all the time. I used to have a horrible case of asthma that persisted until I was 12. That was when I started getting in shape, afterwards I no longer needed an inhaler. Not all attacks are deadly, but you might feel like dying (really sucks). It's rather unfortunate that more children are going to develop asthma because the air quality in cities are suburbs are getting worse each year. Asthma caused by cold? Asthma can't be caused by cold- it's caused by a reaction to the contaminants in the air. If you have an attack try your best to steady your breathing by trying to hold your breath- you're only taking in more air contaminants which will just add on to the attacks. But when the onset of an attack occurs, there's really nothing much you can do but let it run its course. Carry an inhalant with you at all times if you know that you have a horrible case of asthma. Also, if you are at home, install air purifiers to decontaminate the air you breathe, that might reduce the astham attacks. Also, people attribute asthma to coughing- that's not even the tip of the iceberg. A cold is caused by mucus due to dead cells and bacteria debris, your body is just getting rid of them. That's not asthma, that's just a cold. Take some cold medicine, you dont need an inhalant.

  10. no they are not all fatal. the fatal ones are the severe cases where they go untreated for too long. a kid i know died of an asthma attack because he had severe asthma and they didn't go to the hospital for over an hour!

i'm a long time asthma sufferer and i've had quite a few attacks, even though my asthma is severe, it's always been controlled and i have fast acting inhalers to help.

if you think you have asthma, you should consult a doctor. i've never heard of asthma caused by a cold. i've heard of congestion seeming like asthma but it was gone once the cold was gone. but you should still consult a doctor.

  11. In my 61 years I have only known of one death attributed to asthma and I don't think that is what caused his death.

So I don't believe the crud people put out about asthma causing deaths at all.

In the 21st century we have meds that my mother, sister and little cousin would have never dreamed of and we lived 60 miles from town on dirt roads. They had lots of asthma attacks. Asthma is NOT what killed my mother. I do not believe it is what killed my cousin either.

It hasn't killed my sister, my brother, my nephew, or me yet. Some days I wonder if I will survive the next breathless "Hereford Bull sitting on my chest" attack.

But with rescue inhalers, Medic squads minutes away, and all the modern conveniences there is no reason for any one to die of asthma.

    Quit worying!

  12. Asthma is curable in homeopathy.

Even  I had asthma and I took the medicines of Dr Sharma from this website. It took me 3-4 months and I just followed what they said and look it has been three  years and I haven’t had any  asthma attack. It seems I got a new life. My asthma is completely cured.

What’s more they give free consultation  in case you email them that you cannot afford the paid treatment of asthma . Although if you pay them, they will give a faster reply.

So, enjoy your new life without asthma and get it curable in homeopathy.

In good homeopaths hand , asthma is completely curable.

I had a great deal of apprehensions that homeopathy is all fake and its all placebo. But results speak for themselves. I am a believer after it cured my of my asthma.

    I wish you good luck.
