I am 15 and my big brother is 25. Whenever i am sent to stay with him, when i am home from boarding school (my parents are always away on holiday or business), he goes on and on and on at me, from making my bed and keeping my room tidy to making sure i have done my prep. He also constantly tells me off for doing the slightest thing wrong or if i am as he puts it "a cheeky little madame". he gets really cross, and does the whole i am older than you and you need to show more respect, he has even swatted me a couple of times when i have been disrespectful. Are all big brothers like this?

  1. ya  my big bro is like that

he only tells me to be more respectful he never hits me.

  2. No, they're not. Talk to him nicely and let him know that he needs to treat you with respect too, and that even though you appreciate him letting you stay with him that he's not your mom or dad. Best of Luck!

  3. My brother is pretty protective

he's a giant hypocrite though because i never do anything and he tells me not to and he's off cheating on his girl friend over spring break

i've lost 30% of my respect for him

  4. yep

  5. All big brothers are like this, and they dont change Im afraid.

Its all to do with them trying to protect you, and they dont get bored of it.  My big bro started hanging out in the same pubs as me, and frightened off so many guys (arggghh)  Only the very brave managed to get past his questioning.

    xx

  6. Not all are like that, to that extent. Sounds like he's trying to play the father role for you. He just wants you to turn out good, that's all. Maybe you could talk to him, and tell him to lighten up a little? Maybe he's just not realising how hard he is on you. Sometimes us guys need those little reminders.

  7. Hi Tillie!

No, not all big brothers are like this.  Only the pompous and arrogant behave like morons.

Does he have only one eye-brow?

Are his eyes real close together?

Does he breathe through his mouth?

Does he chew his food with his mouth open?

When you speak to him, do his eyes get glassy?

I only ask, because it could be a poor breeding situation.  I'd talk to a Vet, and see if he advises that he should be "Put down", or perhaps neutered.
