  1. No there are a few different types, ex. mini atx, atx, at and I think a few more that are not used as much.

  3. depends on the size of the case. you wont fit a full form factor board into a mini case

  4. They come in different sizes but most time propriety M/board such as Compaq / Dell / HP are completely different from standard ones and nothing else will fit their cases

  5. No I got a micro ATX mobo about 1/3 as small as a normal mobo.

  6. No, there are basic sizes, ATX, mini ATX, etc, but not all boards will fit any case. Plus some manufacturers may also have different configuration of the ports on the back of the motherboard.
