  1. HDMI carries a digital signal - basically numbers.  So, it the TV can read the numbers or can read them and correct for any errors, you will get a perfect picture every time.  Basically, it's either going to work or it won't with no in between.

Also, because the signal is digital, a HDMI cable will not reduce or improve resolution.  Resolution is set by the original video signal.  If you are getting 480 with no breakup, it's the signal source, not the cable.

The price difference in the cables is due to materials, and frankly, a lot of profit.  Cables are one of the highest profit items a retailer sells.  For home use, which is typically 6 feet and under, a user will not be able to tell the difference between a $10 cable and a $60 one.

I hope this helps.  Please return and select a Best Answer from all of those submitted.

  3. Basically, HDMI cables vary a lot in price this is because some HDMI cables are a lot better quality than others. If you spend  large amount of money on a TV there is no point buying a cheap cable as it will just lose all of the brilliant pictures and sound the TV is able to produce. Your TV is 1080p and you can now buy cables that are more advanced than your TV up to 1440p so you will be able to buy cables for the future.

I would recommend buying http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product...  which will give your TV full resolution. However you could purchase http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product... and that will give you the best quality picture.

Both cables come with a lifetime guaranty
