The one tested by top gear magazine was 5th fastest acceleration but only reached 112. The one Jezza drove in Japan was also limited. Do they all have limited top speed? If so, why arent the Evo's, Impreza's and Z limited?

  1. In Japan cars ae limited to 200 kph the USA spec GTR is not limited unless you meen approx 200 miles an hour? And jail time! I could see some county judge driving your $100,000 car around after your charged with wreckless driving and they take your licence away. GTR is truly a SUPERCAR keep that speed where it belongs the race track. If you can buy it you can afford the track time.

  2. NOO usualy those things can go 200 even tho the spedo says like 260

  3. In Japan, they are limited by law to 112mph. All cars in Japan are limited to 112mph.

In the U.S., they are not limited and can reach 192mph.

In the U.S., the 350z, Evo, and STI are limited to 155mph. Without the limiter, they can reach 160-165mph.

Cars that are limited in the U.S. are not made to handle speeds of over 155mph, so they are limited at 155mph.

  4. the nissan's speed limiter works with the gps. it recognises when you're on a race track and removes the limiter, allowing the car to reach its full speed only in safe conditions.

  5. Ok, so why do we need this impressive speed when the fastest you can go on Britain's roads is 70 mph? In my opinion all cars should be governed down for road use, especially for inexperienced drivers. I have lost a lot of friends and aquaintances in RTA's by going too fast for the roads.

Spoken like a true old misery I know, but I have seen the devastation it causes to the families left behind.

  6. It is a requirement that all japanese cars are now limited to this speed. However, I would have thought that the car's limiter would be removed for UK models. If not, I'm sure you can get the wire cutters out and go to town on the limiter.

  7. The UK-spec (or other European-spec) GTR is not yet available, so all the tests so far have used Japanese-spec cars.

Under Japanese law, all new cars must be limited to 180km/h (112mph).

Japanese-spec unmodified Evos, Impreza and 350Zs are limited, but most recent tests of these in the UK media have been of UK-spec cars.

  8. Nope, UK spec models top out at 193mph.
