Hi. We found a nice-looking adult painted turtle crossing the road a couple days ago. He or she is pretty good size I think. So we picked it up and brought it home. It is now living in a box with water, grass, sticks, and a rock for it to sit on. We made its new home like its natural habitat so it would be happy. But I was wondering if ALL painted turtles are aggressive? The one we caught isn't aggressive at all! I have seen other wild turtles caught, and some of them would even hiss at you and try to bite! But the turtle we found is really gentle. We pick him up and let him run around in the house. I even can pat his head without him biting! The only time he ever showed signs of aggression was when I was touching him and he just barely opened his mouth at me. But he lets us pat his head and everything. Is this normal for an adult turtle? Please answer. Thanks!
