Are all programs compatible with AMD processors?

Well im planning on getting a laptop but i noticed the ones with the AMD cpu have more video memory then the the laptops with intel cpu. Someone told me that i should find a better intel because not all programs are compatable with the AMD processor. Is this true?

AMD will run any program you need.

AMD is 100% compatible with any version of Windows.

The more important consideration is XP over Vista since Vista will be a huge drag on any laptop's performance.

A two-year-old laptop with XP will run faster than a new laptop with the latest technology running Vista.

I hear people saying this all the time but when I ask them which programs they always say they don't know, they just heard.

I think it is a rumor started by Intel.

I have never heard of a program that won't run on an AMD chip.
