Are all racehorses thoroughbreds or are do other breeds race?

  1. h**l ya !! i help raise some excellent arabians and they race alotttt xD its good to have a wide variety of horses race because if it wasnt like that then it be soooo hard to get that certain breed


  2. The Gold Cup, Grand National, Kentucky Derby, etc. are restricted to Thoroughbreds only.  

    Yes other horse breeds such as Quarter horses, Paints, Appoloosas, and Arabians race as well but against their own kind or in mixed all breed races depending on the race track.

  3. when you bet on em and they lose they are called most anything! they even race mules! camels! dogs! ostridges!etc...in the big races however the thoroughbreds dominate the scene...

  5. Yes, all horses that run in race like the Grand National, the Gold Cup, Royal Ascot races, the Derby, etc are Thoroughbreds.

    Other breeds, like Arabians and Quarter Horses, do race but only against their own breed.
