  1. To find out about how rocks are formed go to the website below, then search on 'Sedimentary rock', 'igneous rock' and 'metamorphic rock' for more information.  

    No, all rocks are not necessarily pushed to the surface: some simply recycle within the crust, by metamorphism and ultimately melting. If they all were brought to the surface they would have been eroded away and replaced with younger rocks - we still find very old rocks both at the surface and below the surface.


  2. It all depends on the fault type the rock is on.  A thrust fault yes. Reverse fault or subduction zone no.
