I already know that the Royal Families of UK, Denmark, Greece, Spain, Sweden, Russia (when they had of course) are related (even not directly). Also that some have an ancestry by Byzantine Emperors.

So they all are a kind of relatives ?

  1. They're all cousins, the regnant and the deposed, both the Protestant & Orthodox and Roman Catholic.they in the main trace their forebears back to German royal and princely houses (Electors of Hanover, Prince Albert, etc.)

In the middle 19th century, the chief progenitor was the Protestant king of Denmark , Christian IX, who married off his many children to other countries, which is why he was sometimes called Europe's father-in-law. He was the son of two German royals: Friedrich Wilhelm, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg and Louise Caroline, Princess of Hesse

  2. no duh they are related!!!!! cousins all..........incest galore......blergh!!

but Andrea Casiraghi is muy muy bueno!!

  3. Yes;royals of the past tended to marry amongst themselves. The Queen and her husband,Prince Philip are third cousins!

  4. Back in the day.....there were different kingdoms, different rulers etc. So obviously not everyone was royalty. So they believed that it was right to only get married and have children with other royal families. Some marriages were used to become allies with another country, and then sometimes it was just as common to marry your cousin. They families basically interbred with each other for centuries. So that is basically why they are all related, an finally now things are starting to get almost normal since most royals will marry someone not in royalty so most likley there will not be any genetic defects in the family anymore.

  5. The are related directly by Queen Victoria her kids all married there cousins. World War one was 3 cousins fighting in UK, Spain, Russia. Sweden King was Russia's Cousin.

  6. They had inter breding problems with hemophilia, since their gene-pool was limited amongst themselves.
