Like, are they all from arab countries? Or is it possible some were from India? I'm trying to learn about Buddha, to figure out if he was one of Allah's prophets.

  1. Sister, believe me when I tell you Buddha was no Prophet. I am half Asian and love my ancestors dearly, as Allah is my witness. Brahman is something totally different. That is like comparing apples and oranges. Both are good to me, yet far from being the same. But both from the same ferment, different root, different fruit, that yields a different taste.

  2. Some Muslim scholars agree that name "Dhul-Kifl" mentioned in holy Qura'n's chapter The prophets (Al Anbia), is actually Buddha. As Buddha's father was king of Kipl, in Arabic is known as Kifl.

Dhul-Kifl is mentioned at one more place in Qura'n (total 2 times) as one of the patient people.

Later on people altered the teachings of Buddha that's why Muhammad pbuh was the last Prophet to clerify all human additions and misconceptions in early words of Allah swt.

  3. i dont believe so.

  4. Allah sent total of 124000 prophets on earth.  Only five out of them

were Arab Prophets. Following are their names:

Saleh, Hood, Ismail, Shoaib and Mohammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon all of them).

Allah sent Prophets to people in all parts of earth where people lived in large groups and chose one from among the people who spoke their language. Most of those Prophets were to teach simple messages of Allah depending on the level of understanding and knowledge of

People and guided them what is wrong and what is right thing to do.

Mohammad SAW is the Final Prophet of God for all mankind. Muslim are the last people who believe on the oneness of Allah. Allah will not send any more Prophet to people. Allah final Revelation Quran is the last Book.  Allah has completed the message of Islam with Quran and Prophet Mohammad SAW. Muslim being the last believer in One God have been assigned by Prophet Mohammad to keep passing on the message of Islam to the rest of world untill the end of this world. It is

not the duty and responsibility of Muslims to convert people.  People like message of Islam and accept it with their free will and then they also preach Islam to people they know. Muslim do not force any one to convert.  Those who believe Muslims are converting people as Muslim are wrong.  Christians also preach Christianity all over the world.

  5. Adam wasn't. Jesus' backgrounds are questionable.

  6. According to Ibn Kathir (rah),

    only four are arabs,

    1) Salih(AS)

    2) I forgot the name

    3) Ishmail (AS)

    4) Mohamed(SAW)

Most of the prophets mentioned in Quran are isrealites.

    Ayyoob or Job(AS) is Roman.

Rumaitha is wrong, Moses(AS) didn't speak hebrew,  he spoke Aramaic, Torah (thawrath) was revealed in Aramaic langauge, Hebrew was not formed at the time of Moses(AS)

  7. No the majority mentioned in the Quran were from Israel. Buddha is not a prophet. His religion does not revolve around a God. It is more of a philosophy.

Muhammad nzr you seem to be very confused Hebrew is one of the oldest languages in the world.

To the other Muhammad Dhul-Kifl is refereed to as Ezekiel by most scholars.

  8. No, all societies have been sent at least one prophet.

  9. There R 4 Arabi prophets besides prophet Mohammad (s)  sent to the Arabs

Hood هود عليه السلام  sent to Aad they were Arabs

Salih  ÃƒÂ˜Ã‚µÃ˜Â§Ã™Â„Ø عليه السلام  sent to Thamud

Shuaib شعيب عليه السلام  sent to Madiyan

Ismaiel أسماعيل عليه السلام   sent to Jurhum from Yaman

And Prophet Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم

And be sure that Buddha was not a prophet

  10. No, not all prophets were Arab or from Arab countries. Moses was Jewish and was from modern day Israel, and spoke Hebrew. Muhammad was Arab and from modern day Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and spoke Arabic. Buddha is thought to be a prophet by some Muslims, since many of his teachings were similar. Though, I wouldn't waste time trying to find out or assuming he was a prophet. He could have been, or he could have just been a really wise man who taught good manners as does Islam. That doesn't necessarily mean he is a prophet. A prophet was sent to every nation / people. Who those are and which prophet was sent to each, we don't quite know since the Quran didn't mention them all. No one can be certain, Buddha definitely didn't say he was a prophet sent by Allah to teach "Islam". If he did, I doubt people would have missed those very important points, unless it got lost somewhere in history.

    Muhamad:

Moses spoke in Hebrew, Jesus spoke in Aramaic. The Torah was revealed in Hebrew and the Bible was in Greek. So where did you get that Hebrew didn't exist at that time?

And I agree with Beatalic Messiah. My uncle was a Buddhist, and it would be very ignorant of me to assume their beliefs. So I would need to ask him some more about the faith. Though, I don't think anyone should assume he was a prophet.

  11. The people of *all* languages were given prophets according to the quran. So, even eskimos had at least one prophet :)

If you want to learn which leaders of other religions were actually prophets of Allah whose texts got corrupted, you should read Bahai websites. The Bahai religion is based on this concept that all previous religions (inluding Islam) got corrupted, but the leaders were all perfect prophets of Allah. Bahais even discovered Baha'ullah was prophesised in the quran.

Here's a link to Buddhist suttas. Read the Brahmajala sutta, as it deals with Buddha's teaching of god and prophethood: http://dighanikaya.googlepages.com/

  12. No, not all the prophets were Arab (an Arab by Islamic definition is one who spoke Arabic). Many of the prophets, if not most, and all of the known prophets are from present-day Arab countries.

I don't think Buddha was a prophet of Islam, because he didn't preach the Oneness of Allah. He had his own different system.

  13. Nope.

    Some were jews.

    Example: Jesus

Most of them were from Saudia Arabia.

  14. Mohammad was Arabic, Moses was Hebrew, jesus was probably arabic. all were Muslims but not necessarily arab. they used different languages. buddhism is the religion invented by people, may be they derived some teachings from one of these prophets and adjusted it to suit them.

  15. No budda was not a prophet. He was merely a man seeking truth and self. And it's true one day when he was meditating under a tree late at night encountered Five Bright Noors. He asked them who they were. They answered individually and said "I am Muhammad" "I am Ali" "I am Fatima" "I am Hassan" "I am Hussain".

The Five Bright Noors that appeared to Budda were the Panjitan-e-Pak (as), who were loved by Allah and were the most closest to Him. It has all been recorded in the traditions!

  16. My dear Shakila, salam for you. No,not all prophets in Islam were arab people. Most of prophets were jews .Only since Ismael prophet upto Muhammad pbuh were prophets from Arab people, because Ismael was the son of Ibrahim (Abraham) from his second wife Siti Hajar who lived in Mecca valey.Ibrahim prophet lived in Jerusalem with his first wife Sarah and they had a son called Ishaq as the prophets Ishaq with his descendants among others Jacoob,Jusuf,Moses and Harun,Zakaria,Imran etc were the ancestor of jew people .The holy Torakh and Injil(Bible) were corrupted because it was spoken by Allah in the Qur'an.But I did not find about Buddhaism in the Qur'an,but if the religion of Buddha is not in line with Islam it was corrupted too.In the Qur'an Allah spoke that the true and right religion which be blessed by Allah is only Islam.Islam is the completest religion and Allah will protect its genuinity upto Qiyamah.
