  1. I think they are worth it.  I feel they  help to reduce crime and accidents.

  2. Yea they are necessary because it can really help you when you are driving away in the dark.

  3. SEEING IS WHAT THEIR.

  4. We have property in the high desert that was purchased years ago.  Recently we visited the land, and saw that a number of homes had been built.  There were no street lights in our neighborhood, and our our side of the main street leading in to the tract, the utility poles were undergrounded.

It made for a beautiful view at night, and I was pleased that I wouldn't be paying tax dollars, as you say, for lighting that really isn't needed.

Recently my husband was away for a week, so I slept in the front guest bedroom.  The street light was broken, flickering on and off all night.  It was a bit irritating, and has been going on for weeks now.  What good are they anyway if they're not maintained properly?

  5. They are a necessity in the world we live in today.  Using LED lights would be a solution to saving money and energy.

  6. Light pollution is effecting every living creature, in NY on Long Island, 20 years ago you could see the stars at night. Now? d**n near nothing. I can understand it on major highways but else where? Turn them off.

  7. No, they are not necessary.  Like others said, it can help reduce crime and transportation mistakes.  Personally, I think there are more sustainable ways to reduce crime and transportation mistakes than to simply light up the night like it's daytime.

  8. Of course, they're necessary for reducing crime rate and accidents on different streets around the world.
